About Us
Al-Falaah is a non-profit, volunteer led organisation based in the United Kingdom with particular focus on working in the Scotland area.
Al-Falaah was established in May 2013 by a select few dedicated individuals under the guidance of Shaykh Abdur Raheem with the sole intention of spreading Islam and what it stands for: peace and unity. Thus far we have delivered many courses, seminars and lectures in prominent Universities and Islamic centres in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee.
Due to the rapid expansion of the organisation, the sheer hard work of our volunteers and the desire to give back to the people of Scotland, the need for a permanent base has arisen. We hope you can be a part of this great cause.
Our Vision
Al Falaah Academy is committed to serving the immediate and wider community through the application of traditional Islamic knowledge in contemporary society. Al Falaah Academy strives for the development of today and tomorrow, motivated by the changes that need to be made and the responsibility of reviving the unsurpassed example that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and his companions (May Allah be Pleased With Them) left for mankind. In order to reach this aim, Al Falaah Academy adheres to five driving objectives that are reflected in all of its actions and agendas:
-
To revive Islamic knowledge within the community.
-
To create unity amongst the Muslim community
-
To instil the importance of Khidma (service to others) to benefit humanity.
-
To represent each and every member of the community and be as open and transparent as possible.
-
To promote inter-faith relationships for the good of mankind.
-
The realisation of these aims can only be achieved through the Help and Grace of Allah, and then by the continued support and encouragement of the community.
Purpose of building
Al Falaah Academy will establish to enrich the lives of the Muslim community by providing them with appropriate means to acquire sacred knowledge. It is clear that many people with busy lifestyles have a desire to comprehensively study the Sacred Sciences but are not able do so due to the absence of an academy that caters for their specific learning needs. Al Falaah Academy recognises and wishes to fulfill this requirement with the start of its first Islamic Nursery & part-time class of the Alimiyyah course. Now, by the Grace of Allah.
Al-Falaah has recently secured purchase of a former primary school building on Calder Street, Govanhill. We envisage this centre to be a hub for the community. We are currently raising funds in order to begin youth activities and summer schools, lectures and weekly Qur’an and tafseer classes for brothers and sisters. As well as this we aim to establish a number of community initiatives, including: prayer hall, marriage counselling, marriage bureau, youth development and drug awareness programmes as well as food distribution schemes. We are also planning Scotland’s first Islamic nursery.
We are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced staff to join our team.
